Yoga is never boring there are always new goals, new depths, new approaches to well-known poses.

After trying many styles of yoga, Grada settled on Vinyasa yoga. The variations and flow are endless and always stimulating. Vinyasa brings an element of fun to the practice, an element of fun we seem to neglect as adults in our daily lives.

When you enjoy the way you move, you are far more likely to return to that way of movement. Whether friends inspire you or the feeling after a class as long as you return to your mat.

Yoga is about commitment, showing up on your mat dealing with whatever the challenge may be for the day. No one is looking for perfection in a practice that is why it is called a practice, we come to meet ourselves on the mat and learn to love what we find.

Grada has been teaching for a decade and hope to do so for many more years to come.

Magdarie van Staden

Magdarie’s classes focus on combining energetic flows and restorative practices while getting safely into the asanas. The key elements in her classes are strong movements, proper alignment and individual adjustment. Whilst her classes are mainly Vinyasa based, she does enjoy toning it down at times with a Yin session or two.

Loving cycling and surfing, Magdarie enjoys how perfectly yoga compliments any other activity. By doing yoga she has seen how her strength, endurance and flexibility has improved in those areas as well. Yoga also serves as the perfect remedy to release tight and rigid muscles after a strenuous training session.

Still working full-time in a corporate career, yoga has taught her a lot about balance and managing the stresses of our modern day life. It is through yoga, that Magdarie has learned to honour the quiet moments and regain strength and sanity in the stillness that is so rare to find in our busy schedules.

Practicing yoga since the beginning of 2010, Magdarie began her formal Satyananda yoga training in 2014 with Charene Swartzberg from Yoga Connection in Pretoria. In 2015, she completed her RYT 200 hour Vinyasa Teacher Training under the guidance of Diego Baldi from Inner Wellness in Durban. She continues to enrich her own practice by attending workshops and furthering her studies in the philosophy of yoga.
